Maine Coon
Maine Coon is originally an american breed from the state of Maine in the United States. The first registered cat from this breed goes as far back as the 1860s. Maine Coon is a big cat, considered to be the worlds largest domesticated cat. The males weights as much as 6-8 kg., and the females a little less.
A Maine Coon develops slowly and is not fully grown until its about 4 years of age. Its fur is half long and is easy to take care of.
The Maine Coon cat is a kind and calm, but still a playful cat. It is known to charm everyone near with its pleasant temper. It behaves well with other cats and also other animals. An amusing detail with this breed is that it usually don't meow but makes a brrrp'y sound instead. Somtimes you can hear a tweety sound.
The breed enjoys themself indoors but does not care too much for closed doors. They are sociable and likes to be where there are human beings. They are also "explorers" and like to examine everything new that comes into the house. They like to be where it happens and sometimes their behaviour looks like a dogs.
